Physics with Medical Physics BSc

University Park Campus, Nottingham, UK

Course overview

This accredited degree provides a strong foundation in physics while offering specialised training in medical imaging. You will gain hands-on experience in medical physics and benefit from expert lectures delivered by senior practicing medical physicists.

In the first two years, you will follow a core programme covering fundamental physics, medical physics, and essential mathematical techniques for modelling physical systems. You will also develop skills in experimentation, computational analysis, and data interpretation, alongside professional skills in a supportive learning environment. In your second year, you will study a dedicated medical physics module.

I have had an ongoing interest in medical physics since as early as A Levels, which inspired me to pick Nottingham as my place of study due to their links with MRI. There are so many interesting areas of research, and different areas to specialise in, all of which make a difference. If you’re searching for a fulfilling physics-related job that makes a difference, then medical physics might just be what you’re looking for.
