Hispanic Studies

University Park Campus, Nottingham, UK

Course overview

Broaden your horizons professionally, intellectually and culturally by studying Spanish and (potentially) Portuguese. With Spanish being the second most spoken language in the world and Portuguese the most spoken language in the southern Hemisphere, this degree could take you almost anywhere!

Live the life and culture of Spain or Latin America (and Portugal or Brazil if you continue with Portuguese) with a year abroad in year three. This exciting opportunity will develop your communication skills, build your confidence and help you stand out to future employers.

Trent and Highfields lake

I would say the most challenging part about learning a language is the constant attention you have to dedicate to it every day. This is especially true if you decide to take a language from beginners like I did. However, on the flip side, watching series on Netflix counts as 'revision' so it can be quite enjoyable!
