October 2024

Hi,

Human activity is driving increasing declines in global wildlife populations, a stark new report from WWF details. As well as system changes, a cultural mindset shift is needed to help us all get back in balance with nature.

We're therefore highlighting two university initiatives this month; helping people reconnect with nature with Wilding Campuses, and translating people's values into meaningful action with new staff sustainability training resources.

So let’s get going!

Play your way through new staff sustainability training

A new suite of resources aim help improve staff's understanding of environmental sustainability. This includes an e-learning module providing an introduction to what sustainability is all about in the university context.

But, this isn't your bog standard training module, it's an interactive game where you live a day in the life of a university colleague making choices related to the environment. The module discusses the areas in our lives where the most impactful changes can be made in a fun and engaging way. End by making your own environmental pledge.

Next we're looking at how to role it out for students.
