The grounds of our UK campuses are among the most beautiful in the country and home to wildlife that is a source of delight to generations of students, staff and visitors. Our mission is also to help preserve and restore ecosystems and biodiversity in the UK and across the world, by working in partnership with farmers, industry, communities and policymakers.

Fixing the climate impact of nitrogen

Synthetic nitrogen fertilisers used in farming are a leading cause of global warming. A revolutionary approach developed at Nottingham will accelerate a process that uses bacteria to convert nitrogen from the air to create sustainable biofertilisers.
