Bespoke career support scheme now taking applications

Would you like bespoke professional development support? Have you faced barriers in your career progression? We have a new programme providing individualised needs-based flexible support where current professional development provision cannot meet your development requirements. The programme is for staff who work in a research-related role, including technicians, professional services staff supporting research, research and R&T staff (PGRs will not be eligible unless also employed by the University in a separate research-related staff role).

The programme is for you if:

  • You have faced barriers due to your protected characteristics such as race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity, or
  • You are underrepresented in your professional field for reasons of neurodiversity, caring responsibilities, socio-economic background.

Activities on the programme are flexible and based on participants’ individual needs. Example activities include coaching, mentoring, training, placements and travel support for development activities. For more information, please see the programme guide.

To apply, please complete the following form before 5pm on Friday 11th October.

Apply for the scheme

Please note that places on the programme are limited and are likely to be oversubscribed. Applicants should note the eligibility and selection criteria and consider carefully their answers in the form. Assistance in applying to the scheme is available here. Please bear in mind that the criteria are very different to the typical requirements for applying for employment or for research funding.

We anticipate that there will be future application rounds, but we advise interested applicants to apply in this round if possible.
