The
Geographical Information Science Research Group exists:
...to encourage collaborative, cross-disciplinary discussion
between the researchers, users and providers of digital geographical
information. Our objective is to promote the development and application
of theory and knowledge in GI Science to the collection, processing,
analysis and modelling of geographical information within digital environments.
Research
interests include:
- Data dissemination & exchange standards in digital media,
including the Internet;
- Integrating geographical & temporal data;
- Measuring uncertainty in geoinformation;
- Methods & applications of geocomputation;
- Modelling geographical processes;
- Multidimensional representation & analysis;
- The digital visualization of geographical information, spatial
patterns & processes;
- The geographical applications of E-Science & Grid Computing.
