One of our undergraduate students, Jonathon Gibbs, produced an academic paper from his third year project supervised by Ender Ozcan that has been accepted for presentation to PPSN XI, one of the major conferences in the field of natural computing. This is a big achievement, as the conference always attracts a large number of high quality submissions.
The paper will be published in the Series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) by Springer:
Jonathan Gibbs, Graham Kendall, Ender Ozcan: Scheduling English Football Fixtures over the Holiday Period Using Hyper-heuristics. PPSN XI, LNCS, to appear in 2010.
The 11th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving From Nature will take place September 11-15, 2010 at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland.
