There's lots of information to take in when you arrive, but please take time to read our online materials and videos to speed up your IT induction and ensure you have access to all the services you need. If you're stuck, we can help both in person and virtually.

Welcome

We fully appreciate that getting connected and accessing the right software for your studies will be critical in your first weeks with us. After completing the steps on 'Before you start', please follow the following steps once you have arrived at university to ensure your first and subsequent weeks run smoothly.

We offer a wealth of online information, guides and videos and a range of help and support, including Student IT Tutors and a Virtual Smarter Bar, to help you, as well as virtual drop-in sessions.

Connect to Wi-Fi

Stay connected wherever you are across our UK campuses.

'eduroam' is the main wireless network and you will need to connect when you arrive as part of registration.

Attend your IT Induction

During your welcome weeks, we are hosting an IT Induction for each Faculty. Check your timetable and attend your induction to discover more about all the IT services available.

Get Microsoft Office and Teams

You can install the latest Office apps on up to any five devices for free.

Download Microsoft Teams as you'll be using this throughout your studies.

Save your work to OneDrive

OneDrive provides you with 5TB of storage in the cloud where you can securely store, share, and sync your files.

Start your work from portal.office.com and always save to OneDrive.
