Dr Mulgrew is awarded a Strategic Grant from the ESRC Impact Accelerator Account

Dr. Roisin Mulgrew has been successful in securing a strategic grant from the Economic and Social Research Council’s Impact Accelerator Account.

Her project ‘Training on European Standards concerning Foreign Prisoners’ will receive £20,000.

This project will provide training on the Council of Europe’s 2012 Recommendation concerning foreign prisoners.

A training workshop will be held in Bruges, Belgium for persons responsible for designing and delivering national training programmes for prison officials within Council of Europe member States, as well as prison governors working in prisons with large foreign prisoner populations.

The workshop will focus on increasing awareness of the penal standards relevant to the treatment of foreign prisoners and facilitating the exchange of best practice between experts from across the region.
