Biography

After graduating with a first class Biochemistry degree I went on to study for a PhD in Rob Layfield's group investigating the effects of Paget's Disease of Bone-associated p62 mutations on protein structure and function (funded by Arthritis Research UK). Having finished my PhD, I went on to complete a Postdoc in defining the disease mechanism in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), conditions in which p62 mutations have also been identified.

I have since switched research groups and now work in the Biomembrane NMR group as the senior research officer focusing on research in characterising the structure, function and assembly of biological membranes.
