My teaching covers a broad range of ecological themes, from the molecular to the population level, but my main expertise is in social insect biology. I have worked with many insect species as part of my research career, but my passion is for honey bees and leafcutter ants.

I both convene and teach on:

LIFE2081 Ecology

LIFE3078 Biological Challenges in the Tropics

LIFE4050 Process and Practice in Science

I teach on:

LIFE1031 Evolution Ecology and Behaviour

LIFE2011 Behavioural Ecology Field Course

I also offer projects for Year 3 (LIFE3022) and Year 4 (LIFE4052). Topics here generally cover behavioural ecology, and use various species of ants and bees to understand how insects use division of labour to efficiently find food and defend their nests against disease.
