Congratulations to the School of Politics and International Relations' Dr Eloïse Bertrand on the publication of her new co-authored article '(Dis)utilities of Force in a Postcolonial Context: Explaining the Strategic Failure of the French-Led Intervention in Mali' in the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding.

Eloïse's research focuses on party politics, institutions, governance, and security in sub-Saharan Africa. She's currently the Principal Investigator of a three-year ESRC-funded project on security, democratisation, and elite politics in the Sahel (SDEP-Sahel).
