Congratulations to PhD candidates Oliver Dodd, Oliver Mihell-Hale, Artur Nadiiev and Amelia Watkins-Smith for winning the 2022/23 Michael Cowan Scholarship award.
The school is the benefactor of a generous donation given on behalf of Michael Cowan, by the executor of his estate, Judge Richard Benson, an alumnus of the University of Nottingham, who graduated in 1965 with a degree in politics. Michael Cowan graduated in Politics and Philosophy from Hull in 1965. From the mid 90’s he devoted himself to politics. At various times he was Leader of Newark District Council and Treasury Portfolio Holder at County Hall.
Each year, the donation is used to award postgraduate research students with £1,000 to assist with their research and learning.
