Viva Success for Thomas Eason

Congratulations to School of Politics and International Relation's doctoral researcher Thomas Eason on passing his PhD viva, subject to minor corrections.

Thomas’ thesis, ‘Beyond Blair: Governmental Politics, Perceptions, and the British Decision to Invade Iraq’, creates a new Foreign Policy Analysis framework based on a fusion of the Governmental Politics Model and the Cognitive Approach. He applies this new framework to the British decision to invade Iraq in 2003 and uses it to construct a narrative that decanters Tony Blair and challenges dominant ‘Blair centric’ explanations of the controversial war.

His thesis was examined by Professor Jamie Gaskarth (Open University) and Dr Catherine Gegout (University of Nottingham).

 Congratulations Thomas!
