Dr Chun-yi Lee Offers Expert Commentary For Taiwan Elections

Taiwan expert Dr Chun-yi Lee has made a number of media appearances to offer commentary on the recent political activity in Taiwan.

Taiwan Research Hub director Dr Lee offered her expertise in discussions on the January 2024 Taiwan elections, including an appearance on Chatham House podcast episode What are the stakes in Taiwan's election? and participating in the Centre for Geopolitics panel event on the election results. 

 Chun-yi also appeared on Canadian news network CBC News to discuss the possibility of China invading Taiwan, and contributed to discussions on Indian news network WION on 'Taiwan's D-Day plans against Chinese invasion'. Chun-yi's research focuses on cross-Strait relations (China and Taiwan) relations, Taiwanese investment in China and Southeast Asia and the the geo-political impact of China's Belt and Road Initiative on Southeast Asian countries. She is the director of the Taiwan Research Hub, bringing together researchers from different disciplines and career stages to improve understanding of Taiwan, with a focus on the fields of politics, history, culture, society, international relations, and economy.
