Invitation to the Annual CBS Research Symposium 2019

Dear all,

The Centre for Biomolecular Sciences (CBS) annual research symposium will be held on Thursday 10th January 2019 in our new teaching and learning hub on University Park.  At this event, we will be celebrating the diversity of research that is conducted within CBS by showcasing research from our Synthetic Biology Research Centre, introducing our new National Biofilms Innovation Centre, illustrating our research within the Regenerative Medicine and Biomaterials Discovery, presenting our research within the theme of Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, and introducing the Cancer Studies Centre which will co-locate in the expansion phase.

I can confirm that the invited speaker is Dr Peter Simpson, Chief Scientific Officer, for the Medicines Discovery Catapult.  Peter’s biography can be found on registration.

About the Symposium

We are inviting you to present posters from any conferences that you have attended during 2018 (i.e. no abstract submission and no making a new poster required) and there is an option to tick a box during registration to indicate that you will be presenting a poster.  These posters will be judged by our post-doctoral and postgraduate presenters for which prizes will be awarded.  In addition to the research presentations, we will start the day with a couple of breakfast meetings with a careers focus for those wishing to pursue a career in academia (through the fellowship route) or in industry.  More details about these sessions will follow soon.

You will have received an Outlook invitation to your calendars about this event which is ticket-only but free to attend. Please register and obtain tickets through the Eventbrite link to confirm your attendance and view the agenda.
