Winner of workshop for the YES Scheme

 

Annalisa Ferrante - Winner - Energy, Engineering and Environment Workshop

Annalisa Ferrante, PhD student and PGR representative for the FLUTE Research Group has won the Energy, Engineering and Environment Workshop as part of the YES Competition that was held recently.  She and her team have gone through to the finals which takes place at the Royal Society in London in April.

Annalise and her team competed against 10 other teams from different UK universities and was awarded the winner for their ideal business plan on an innovative energy storage system. 

We would like to say a 'BIG' well done to Annalisa and wish her and her team well in the finals.

YES (Young Entrepreneurs Scheme)

The YES scheme is an innovative global competition developed to raise awareness among postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers of how ideas from science and engineering can be commercialised.  The scheme offers the chance to gain new skills and provides a great life experience. Learn enterprise skills as well as mentoring and project management skills. The scheme also gives the opportunity to learn about ethical, legal and health and safety aspects as well as learning how to communicate research impact to a diverse audience.
