Winner of the Heart Best Research Paper Award 2020

 

Congratulations to Dr Ralph Akyea who has been announced as the winner of the Heart Best Research Paper Award 2020, for his paper called 'Suboptimal cholesterol response to initiation of statins and future risk of cardiovascular disease'. The 2020 award is for the best research paper published in the journal in 2019.

Each year the Heart editorial team selects a research paper to receive the Heart Best Research Paper Award. The selection criteria included: the relevance of the clinical question addressed by the research; the quality of the research study design and data presentation; and the interest generated by the paper among other researchers, clinical cardiologists, and the general public.

Ralph is a PhD student and part-time research associate in the Division of Primary Care. He is also a member of the Primary Care Stratified Medicine Research Group.
