Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre

Renal MRI

Research in renal imaging at the SPMIC is divided into the strategic research themes of MRI methods development and the application of these to translational studies in renal disease.

Our work at the SPMIC in MRI methods development aims to advance imaging acquisition and analysis methods for the study of the kidney. As a team we are committed to developing MRI as a tool to yield complementary information on tissue structure and function, which can be used to study disease processes and therapy.

We are applying these MRI method developments to a number of translational studies working with clinical collaborators at the Centre for Kidney Research and Innovation (CKRI), Biomedicial Research Centre and external collaborators through the UK Renal Imaging Network.
