Neurodiversity Employment Opportunities (NEO) Programme

 About NEO

The NEO programme, currently being piloted in the Faculty of Science, supports creating a more neurodiverse workforce by removing barriers for neurodivergent individuals to access entry level roles and develop their skills.

 The programme includes two strands:

  • NEO Now is for individuals looking for entry level positions.
  • NEO Next is a partnership programme with local special education needs schools, providing work placements for their sixth form students.

Key placement information:

  • Work placements are for up to 10 months.
  • All roles are part time (up to 16 hours a week).
  • Roles are within the technical services (TS) or administration, professional and managerial (APM) job families.
  • All roles are paid in line with the university salary bands at spine point 10.
  • Roles are limited and start at set timepoints throughout the year.
  • It is important that candidates have functional English, mathematics, and digital skills to fully access and benefit from the programme.

If you think this programme may be a good fit for you or someone you know, please complete the expression of interest form.

If you are a local organisation and interested in finding out more or referring individuals please get in touch.
