Rachel FysonThe School of Sociology and Social Policy is a vibrant and diverse centre for social science teaching and research.

We offer a variety of single and joint honours undergraduate programmes in sociology, social policy, social work and criminology.

We also offer a variety of taught masters degrees. At doctoral level, we offer professional doctorates in public policy and in public management in addition to our research-focused PhD programme.

We enjoy excellent rankings in a number of areas:

The school is home to the Centre for Social Work, which delivers high-quality social work education at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Our postgraduate community also publishes its own blog, ENQUIRE, in addition to organising an annual conference.

Research in the school is conducted through five research centres, which group together academic staff and postgraduate students with similar interests. Each of our research centres is aligned with one or more of the school's eight research themes. These include children and families; social work and social care for adults; health and wellbeing; policy analysis; identities; mobilities and migration; work and inequalities; and science, knowledge and society.

I hope you find our website useful. If you have further questions, please contact us for more information.
