Marc Caplan is a graduate in Geography Business and the Environment

"I decided to study at Nottingham after being attracted by the great campus so close to a big city. The University is huge so there’s always something going on, yet as a campus there are great facilities and a real community feel. I was overwhelmed by the enormous number of sports clubs and societies that I could join, and the experience I have gained through being involved in the running of a society is invaluable. The city of Nottingham has the lot; great nightlife, fantastic shopping, yet is compact enough to be able to walk everywhere.
The modular course structure at Nottingham allowed me to take a wide range of geography and business options. These have been chosen to complement each other, so that I have been studying business theories and then applying them within geographic context, giving me an increasingly broader outlook on society. But I have also been given the flexibility to focus on my particular areas of interest through my dissertation. Being part of two departments has given me opportunities to meet and work with a variety of different people.
Studying at Nottingham has definitely been rewarding and enjoyable. It has given me the drive and motivation to pursue a Masters course in Transport, and the knowledge that I have the experience and skills that will help me in my future career."
