Michael Guiness is a graduate of the BSc Geography Single Honours course.

"I chose to study Geography at Nottingham because the campus environment was green and attractive with lots of spaces to relax in and escape to. The department was a lso one of the best in the country and the staff were friendly and informative on the open day. Now I am here, I really enjoy the course. You are lowered into university life slowly and the w orkload builds gradually, so there is not too much stress.
I am a member of two of the University’s choirs, the Revival Gospel Choir and University Choir. Both are great fun and with the University Choir you get an opportunity to mix with the local people. I am also the editor of ‘Jabberwocky’ the University’s creative writing magazine, which although being a lot of hard work is very rewarding. Nottingham is a great city and not as dangerous as the press make out. It is great for going out in with pubs and clubs to suit every taste. There is also a multitude of good cheap restaurants. All in all Nottingham was certainly a great decision for me. It feels like home."
