"After looking around all the top universities in the UK, I chose to study geography at
Nottingham because both the geography department and the university itself have a great
reputation among employers and came highly recommended to me by past students. The course is
very well structured and offers a great amount of variety in the first year, giving an
extensive insight into the subject at the research front, and studying a range of topics from
the geography of the music industry to global climate change. |
The other main attraction of Nottingham for me was undeniably the beautiful campus,
which has the added benefit of a stunning lake to walk around on those warm summer days! The
atmosphere on campus, especially when living in hall, is a friendly and welcoming one, and I felt
at home here within the first week of arriving. As well as enjoying the amazing social life, I
have spent my time so far involved in various societies, namely the Christian Union and of course,
GeogSoc, but with over 150 societies to choose from, I am planning on getting myself involved in
plenty more over the next three years. In addition, I try as often as I can to make use of the
university’s excellent sports facilities, however in practice this happens less often that it should!" |
