"I chose to study at Nottingham as it offers academic excellence coupled
with a lively social scene, set in a stimulating environment. The campus itself is beautiful
especially in the summer when the lake and rolling downs offer an inspirational and relaxing
environment in which to work. An advantage of a campus university is that everything is
centrally located, yet only a short bus ride from one of the UK’s most vibrant city centres
with a diverse range of shops, bars and clubs. |
Nottingham is renowned for its sporting excellence and whether you want to
compete nationally or just participate for fun, there will be something for you. The range of
non-sporting activities is equally impressive with a lively and supportive students union
offering over 130 societies as diverse as break dancing, the kebab society and jugglesoc!
Geography at Nottingham is challenging yet stimulating. The department offers a friendly
and welcoming atmosphere where the lecturers and staff are always approachable and supportive
in helping each student to achieve their potential. I particularly like the modular structure
of the course which allows flexibility in choosing from a wide variety of modules, with the
option of specialising in either human or physical geography or maintaining a broad range of
modules from across the discipline. I spent part of the second year of my course at the
University of Toronto on the Universitas 21 exchange scheme. This was an amazing experience
academically, culturally and socially and has added an exciting extra dimension to my degree"
