Nic Robinson is a Graduate of Geography Single Honours BSc

"It’s nearly two years now since I left Nottingham but it doesn’t feel that long. I look back at my time there with great nostalgia – the campus is perfectly placed: less than 10 minutes on the bus takes you into the heart of a vibrant city that’s easy to get to know but full of surprises. Despite this city-proximity the campus is fully self contained, safe and green with an upbeat atmosphere. At Nottingham you get the best of both worlds. It’s a cliché but Geography really is a social subject and at Nottingham it’s no different.
The teaching and support staff are as approachable as the students and Geography was a very supportive department. The course becomes more challenging as the years tick by but there is still plenty of time to enjoy being a student. The lists of clubs and societies are endless. I was on the rowing team in the first year, headed up the geography society in the second year and managed a bar job in town through my third year (they were very understanding at exam time!)
Since graduating I have worked at Camp America and am now at a London Media Agency. It’s hard to say what the future holds but geography certainly doesn’t restrict your choices!"
