modern revisions. Antennae 11-segmented; eyes large and pointed
antero-ventrally, set close to mandibles. About 12 species all from
circum-Mediterranean areas and the Middle East. Nest in open ground
usually in sandy soil. Both the following have type locations in Tunisia and Sharaf (2006 thesis) reported one from Egypt. |
