Current role: Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham
I am a research fellow at the Biomedical Research Center and the Computer Vision Laboratory of the University of Nottingham.
My research spans the fields of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Digital Signal Processing with a focus on healthcare applications for vulnerable populations. I specialise in automatic pain assessment from expressive human behaviour.
I was the recipient of the prestigious 2020 L'Oreal-UNESCO UK and Ireland Women in Science Rising Talent Award
Following my PhD work, I was the recipient of the prestigious 2020 L'Oreal-UNESCO UK and Ireland Women in Science Rising Talent Award (Fellowship) in Computing and Mathematics, for my research in automatic multimodal pain assessment in neonates.
Beyond research, I am involved in coordinating and facilitating programmes (e.g. CodeFirstGirls) aimed at promoting the inclusion of women in science through knowledge transfer, mentoring, personal campaign and networking activities.
