My research interests include manuscripts and the history of the book, the depiction and agency of women in late medieval literature, the construction of display and the presentation of self, as well as the cultural constructions and ideologies of space and place, primarily in Middle English romance, courtesy texts and hagiography.
My post-medieval interests range from Shakespeare to 19th and 20th century women's writing.
