Through a decolonial political ecology lens, this project presents the contemporary urban land-grabbing conflict in a medium-sized city in Mexico and the defence of communal territories as evidence of the ontological struggle of resisting and embracing the neoliberal project while defending other ways of being, doing and thinking. Drawing on the reflexive process of 'dwelling in the border' and the alternate conversations with members of the different but related worlds, this project opens the opportunity for an epistemological dialogue where other alternatives are possible.
