About Us
The School of Geography is an internationally leading centre for geographical research and training, rooted in local environments and civic engagement whilst globally outward-looking in our collaborations, including to our partner schools on the university's China and Malaysia campuses.
We continually work to ensure an inclusive, supportive and welcoming culture for all, creating opportunities to flourish and enabling us to be curious and critical in our work.
Our work spans the breadth of geography. The school has a century-long tradition of working at the interface between the arts and humanities, social-, environmental-, and spatial data- sciences, and with academic and non-academic organisations. We continue to strengthen this important broad approach to both our teaching and research.
We aim to enhance and support the progression of all our students and staff, with infrastructures that enable exciting, bold ideas and approaches. The school nurtures current and future leaders and our work enhances lives, places, cultures, and economies. We recognise and value the importance of diverse perspectives, ethical practice, and collaborative working in creating knowledge and developing solutions to help solve society's grand challenges.
