My current research focuses on women's health and safety in the global garment industry with a particular focus on women garment workers' experiences of respiratory ill-health in the Cambodian garment industry.
Informed by critical health geographies, I employ feminist participatory research methodologies including interviews, focus groups and body mapping, to contribute to a 'biosocial' geography of Cambodian women garment workers' experiences of respiratory ill-health. This research foregrounds questions such as whose breath matters and who deserves access to clean, unpolluted air to explore how the garment worker's body is continuously made and re-made through sociobiological processes such as breathing.
