Dr. Emad obtained his BSc in Biomedical Technology/Physiotherapy from the College of Health and Medical Technology (Baghdad-Iraq) in 1999. He then completed an MSc degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from McGill University (Montreal-Canada). During the time he spent in McGill he worked as a research assistant in Montreal Neurological Institute. Subsequently, Dr. Al-Yahya joint the University of Jordan (Amman-Jordan) as a lecturer in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. In 2007, Dr. Al-Yahya started his PhD in Neuroscience at Oxford Brookes University (Oxford-UK) under the supervision of Professor Helen Dawes. After which he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences (Amman-Jordan). He has recently joined the University of Nottingham as an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Science.

Dr. Al-Yahya's research profile is diverse and incorporates a wide range of neuroscientific and biomechanics research methodologies. The general aim of his research is to understand physiological mechanisms and motor control principles underpinning movement, which could inform better rehabilitation interventions.
