PhD student,
Maria is a part-time PhD student at the school of Health and Social Sciences at the University of Nottingham. Her main research project explores trauma and its management in the psychiatric inpatient setting. Aside from research, she is working full-time as an STR support worker at an early intervention in psychosis team in CAMEO at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation NHS Trust. Her role entails supporting service users who fall into the first episode in psychosis pathway, specialist/ extended and or at risk mental states pathway, by helping them in their recovery journey. The main focus of her work could be supporting them with social inclusion, providing brief psychological interventions or assessing their mental state by critically analysing their mood, thinking, feeling, behaviour or cognitive framework.
