Biography
Stephanie graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2009 with a BSc (HONS) in Children's Nursing. Post graduation, she began working on the Neonatal Intensive Care (Level 2) Unit (NICU) at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton in Ashfield. Here she worked as a band 5 staff nurse for 1 year, caring for both premature and term infants.
She then moved to Nottingham City Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care (Level 1) Unit in 2010, where she provided Critical & High Dependency Care to infants of various ages, from extreme premature 23 week gestation to term, sick babies. In 2011, Stephanie commenced her Specialist Neonatal modules as part of the MSc Health & Social Care pathway at the University of Nottingham, part time, over 4 years, alongside working clinically on the ward.
In 2014, she was promoted to Clinical Development Nurse. In this role, Stephanie was a proactive role model, leading in the Neonatal Intensive Care clinical environment through the provision of clinical development, assessment of competence and implementation of change. She supported learning and development within the unit, establishing change in practice as well as working alongside team members/student nurses to support individual development.
In 2015, Stephanie completed her Master of Science (MSc) in Health & Social Care (Critical & High Dependency Care of Neonates, Infants & Young Children).
In April 2020, Stephanie joined the School of Health Sciences as a Teaching Associate. As part of this role, Stephanie will support students and deliver teaching on the pre-and post-registration nursing programmes. Stephanie has immense enthusiasm for teaching and is looking forward to her new role as a Teaching Associate, utilising her specialist clinical expertise to help deliver the Future Nursing Curriculum.
