Associate Professor of Neuroscience, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
I switched to systems and computational neuroscience research after obtaining a PhD in theoretical computer science in 2006. After a decade as a postdoc (in two labs employing a range of electrophysiological and computational methods) I started my own group in 2016. Before Nottingham the lab was based in Universities of Leicester and Sheffield.
We are interested in cortical circuit dynamics, particularly in the spontaneous activity regime and over long timescales. Our lab employs electrophysiological and computational methods to explore the activity of individual neurons and neuronal populations in normal conditions and under the influence of psychoactive compounds
