Clinical Associate Professor in Primary Care Education, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Dr Carson obtained a BSc in Biochemistry and Physiology from the University of Leeds in 1999. She also completed a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Leeds (2003) under the supervision of Professor Turner. Her thesis was titled "Molecular and Cellular Characterisation of the Endothelin Converting Enzyme Family". She went on to study medicine at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2007. She spent her foundation years (F1 and F2) in the Trent region, and then completed GP specialty training in Derby, obtaining her MRCGP in 2013. She started working as a problem based learning facilitator (PBL) at the University of Nottingham in 2019. She has held several roles within the University, and is now a Clinical Associate Professor in Primary Care Education.
