Biography

Dr Shellie Radford is a Nurse Researcher with a background in Specialist IBD nursing and Clinical Research delivery. Shellie completed her PhD studies at the University of Nottinghams School of Medicine under the supervision of Professor Gordon Moran.

Shellie qualified with her Degree in Nursing in 2013 from the University of Nottingham, and has worked in Gastroenterology since 2016. Shellie gained her Masters degree in 2020 from the University of Nottingham by undertaking research into the lived experiences of patients living with IBD, also achieving her Postgraduate Certificate in Gastrointestinal disorders in 2021 from the University of Salford.

Dr Shellie Radford is a clinical academic Registered Nurse with a special interest in clinical trials methodology, gastroenterology (IBD) and the understanding and clinical management of long term health conditions. Shellie is an elected committee member of the British Society of Gastroenterology and the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation.

Current Research

Shellie is a Senior Research Fellow in Gastroenterology, working within both the Nottingham clinical trials unit and the Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre at the University of Nottingham. Shellies research encompasses using mixed methods to investigate ways to better support people living with long term conditions, clinical trials based in secondary and primary care and implementation of healthcare interventions.
