Current Research
My research concerns the development of novel materials and devices with coupling of spin and charge properties. The electron spin degree of freedom offers new possibilities for novel quantum structures, and could form the basis of a potential new framework for microelectronics.
Our materials and devices are developed in-house using a suite of molecular beam epitaxy and processing facilities. We have access to state-of-the-art magnetic, electrical and structural characterization, and we work closely with international facilities including Diamond Light Source. Notable successes include the highest reported magnetic transition temperature in (Ga,Mn)As, which is one of the most widely-studied ferromagnetic semiconductor materials.
