Biography

Having completed my bachelor degree in Sociology and Economics, I started my doctoral research examining redevelopment in the West Midlands. Whilst in the school of sociology, the research also relied heavily on Geography. After completion, I worked on regeneration policy within the voluntary sector and local authority, eventually becoming a Neighbourhood Manager. In 2008, I returned to work in higher education as a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Wolverhampton before taking up the position of Assistant Professor in Social Policy at the University of Nottingham in 2021.
