The University of Nottingham’s Centre for Inclusive Financial Technology (INFINITY) has been awarded a new £1.4 million grant from Research England to develop a fintech hub in the heart of the city. Situated on the university’s new Castle Meadow Campus, the INFINITY hub will be located alongside Nottingham University Business School and leading businesses in the financial sector, including KPMG, who are relocating their Nottingham office to the new campus in the city centre. 

Since graduating in 2017, Junyi Xiao has seen her business grow from an initial idea into a multinational venture, employing 18 staff and providing logistics management services for several large clients based around the world. With offices in Nottingham and Shenzhen, and a Singapore branch on the horizon, Junyi has been able to put her International Business degree into practice from the start.

The Charter for Inclusive Entrepreneurship, an initiative by Dr Lorna Treanor, was launched nationally in October at the Shard in London. The Charter aims to minimise barriers to entrepreneurship for underserved and under-represented groups through creation of a more inclusive ecosystem.
