Case Study 1 - Employer Engagement

case-study-1

case-study-12

The introduction of a new Professional Skills module in the curriculum has given The School of Biosciences an opportunity to engage with employers to shape our curriculum.  We work with a range of organisations across the Biosciences sector to develop and deliver the Professional Skills for Bioscience module, a compulsory module for our 2nd year undergraduates.

Produce World, AB Agri and Mars have all contributed to our new 2nd year Professional Skills Module.  In partnership with these employers, the School of Biosciences have defined a set of Biosciences Core Graduate Competences. These include interpersonal skills such as leadership and team work and key personal responsibility competences such as a positive attitude and initiative.
