Exogenous group size changes and contributions to public goods

Abstract: The main goal of the paper is to study the effect of group size variations on contribution levels to a public good. Previous literature has studied the static relation between group size and contributions. Instead, we focus on the transition from one group size to another. For this, we follow Weimann et al (2019) and keep constant the saliency of the efficiency gains from the public good across different group sizes. This allows us to attribute the difference in the contributions to the size transition.
