Sabrina is a dedicated chaplain originally from Mauritius who has made significant contributions to the University community. Arriving in the UK in 2004, she pursued her academic journey, earning a BTEC in Health & Social Care from Castle College Nottingham. She continued her studies, graduating with a BA in Health & Social Care from Nottingham Trent University in 2011 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs from the University of Nottingham in 2014. In 2019, she completed her BSc in Nursing from the University of Nottingham. Her academic achievements and voluntary work within different organisations in Nottingham area were recognized with the prestigious East Midlands Shine! International Student Awards in 2011. Her commitment to serving others is evident in her work as a qualified nurse at Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust since 2020. Additionally, she has shown her dedication to the local community by running a free food distribution in Nottingham city Centre.
Drawing inspiration from her Hindu upbringing, Sabrina has been practicing Krishna Consciousness since her early teens. Her spiritual journey undoubtedly contributes to her compassionate and empathetic approach to her role as a chaplain. She has been involved in several interfaith initiatives and has worked to expand an understanding of Bhagavat Gita by organizing sessions for students where they can learn to apply the teachings of Gita in their practical life.
She enjoys serving others, baking cakes, try cooking different varieties of cuisines. She actively invites guest speakers from other temple from far off places for sessions at the university and take extra care to address the students grievances as much as possible be it in terms of finding a part-time job, health issues and others.
