The series Encounters: Writers and Translators in Conversation brings both together in front of an audience. Providing a unique opportunity to listen to readings by the author and the translator and to witness the conversation between them, our Encounters allow fascinating insights into the working relationship between the professions and into practical as well as theoretical aspects of translation.
The Encounters are held in London or Nottingham, open to all and usually free of charge. They are run by the Institute of Modern Languages Research (IMLR) in conjunction with The University of Nottingham, and organised by Dr Heike Bartel (Nottingham) and Dr Godela Weiss-Sussex (IMLR).
