Description: The Committee on LGBT History announced the winners this past weekend at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association. Dr. Phelps' article is titled "The Closet in the Party: The Young Socialist Alliance, the Socialist Workers Party, and Homosexuality, 1962-1970" and was published in Labor: Studies in Working-Class History of the Americas. He is American Studies associate professor and an associate with the Centre for Research in Race and Rights associate.
