American Studies staff and postgraduate students head to Belfast
In April, staff members Judie Newman, Zoe Trodd, Celeste-Marie Bernier, Graham Thompson, Robin Vandome, Katie McGettigan, Ruth Maxey and Maria Ryan, along with postgraduate students Michelle Green, Sam Cooper, James Brookes, Timo Schrader, Patrick Henderson, Hannah Murray, Ben Pickford, Lorenzo Costaguta, Tom Bishop, Mark Eastwood and John Tiplady, presented papers at the annual BAAS conference. The community also celebrated Dr. Stephanie Lewthwaite, who was awarded the 2015 BAAS Book Prize in a ceremony at the conference, for her book A Contested Art: Modernism and Mestizaje in New Mexico.
