Professor of American and Canadian Studies appears on BBC Radio 4

Professor Matthew Jones of the Department of American and Canadian Studies was recently interviewed for the BBC Radio 4 series 'Costing the Earth'. The programme, 'Apoocalypse Then and Now', which was broadcast on Wednesday 26 September 2012, dealt with the problems created for the peoples of Laos by unexploded munitions. Professor Jones provided historical background on America's undeclared war in Laos during the 1960s and 1970s, fought in the shadow of the more famous conflict in Vietnam, and the bombing campaign that resulted.
