The Russian Theatre Group is staging Evgeny Shvarts’ satirical fairy-tale play The Naked King (Голый король). The Naked King was banned by Stalin in the 1930s and created a scandal when it first appeared on the Russian stage in 1960. The Russian Theatre Group’s production of this hilarious send-up of Stalin’s autocratic rule, based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy-tale The Emperor’s New Clothes, will be the first ever staging of this play in Russian in the UK. Tickets are £2 NUS/ £3 general admission.
We hope to see you there!
