Biography

I am an art historian who primarily works on the historiography of twentieth-century art history in Britain and the United States. Before taking up my present role as Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the university, I was a Teaching Associate in Art History. I gained my PhD in 2022 from University College London, and my research has been funded by the Association for Art History, the Paul Mellon Centre and the Terra Foundation for American Art. My writing has been published in Art History, Panorama, Oxford Art Journal and Shofar: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Jewish Studies. Since 2022, I have been Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Visual Culture at Nottingham, and since 2023, I have held the role of Contributing Editor at the journal British Art Studies.

Teaching Summary

I have previously taught on 'The Language of Art History' and 'Memory and Media'. In Autumn 2024 I will be convening the third-year course 'Art Writing in Twentieth-Century America'.

I am also currently co-supervising Rossyln Brown's doctoral thesis on Kaballah and contemporary art.
